WRITING MY FIFTH NOVEL
I write accessible literary fiction and love every minute of it. Writing is my vocation, my passion, the air I breathe. Nothing compares to the adrenaline rush of a sentence, or a thought, taking shape as I put pen to paper.
As you can tell, I do not equate writing with suffering. If I did, I wouldn’t write! And while I put an enormous amount of effort, energy and drive into my writing, I do not consider it as work. Writing to me is first and foremost an exploration and a fun one at that.
I’ve decided to write weekly bog posts describing the various stages of my writing process as I pen my fifth novel. This will be an opportunity for me to reflect on such a process, while hopefully giving you an insight on how this writer works.
Among many other things, you will see how I develop an idea, where I find ideas, how I structure my story, flesh out characters, choose a narrative form, etc. Along the way, I will share tips on writing and on anything that feeds, or tickles, my writer’s brain.
I will keep my posts short, because we’re all busy and less will always be more. I hope that you will enjoy them and look forward to your comments and questions.
Now, let’s get started!
