I have twenty years of teaching experience at university, in language schools and giving private tuition.

I teach adult learners and offer tailored teaching services for companies (French for business and Formation anglais professionnel). My task is to adapt to their interests and needs, to create classes they not only enjoy, but which give them confidence to express themselves in a new language.

  • I teach English and French to students of all ages and levels, in groups or in one-to-one sessions.

  • I prepare them for various exams (First Certificate, Proficiency, TOEFL, GCSE French, DELF and DALF), as well as job interviews and everyday language.

  • I teach face-to-face and on Skype.

  • I focus in equal measure on all four skills - speaking, listening, reading and writing - to ensure an even and more effective learning process.

  • I use a wide range of methods, books and supports (videos, films, podcasts, websites, etc.) to make the class engaging and give a break from grammar.

  • I adapt my classes to my student's needs and tastes and encourage them to use their interests, hobbies or vocation to learn the language.

''Caroline is quite an exceptional teacher. She is adept at constructing lessons to make the most effective use of time while maintaining an atmosphere of care and humour which makes the work so much more enjoyable.'' Bryan Ward

''Caroline is a truly engaging tutor. Her love for languages and teaching is clearly evident with her enthusiastic and fun method of delivery. After a few failed to learn French since school, she gave me the confidence and belief that I could succeed. Unlike previous tutors, this was not just a job for her, but a vocation. Inspirational!''

Clive S.

''Caroline completely built up my confidence and inspired me to really want to learn French and keep on learning it. I learnt so much in such a short amount of time, I wish she could be my teacher for ever.''
Thea Dansie
