First things first, well done for being so consistent and for making progress! Taking up a new habit on your own is not easy, sustaining it even less so. It shows how keen you are to learn the language.

Secondly, the reason you can't speak yet, is that while an app is easy and even fun to use, it cannot replicate the scope needed for language learning. By that, I mean listening, speaking, reading, and writing in equal measure. Or as I call them, the four metaphorical wheels your car needs to work well and pick up speed.

Right now, your car only has two : reading and writing. And chances are, you're probably doing more reading than writing while using your app!

'I use a language app every day. I make progress, but I can’t speak,' is the sentence I hear the most when meeting students for the very first time.

They're motivated but feel frustrated. And some of them think – wrongly – that they're not good at language learning. But would you say you're bad driver if you car only had two wheels at best?

An app doesn't replace an actual person explaining the way the language works, encouraging you to speak, and answering your questions.

An app doesn't tailor the language learning process to your specific needs.

And an app cannot convey nuances, tone, cultural differences, nor show you how to enjoy the process and let go of the pressure to speak perfectly!

So what are you waiting for?
