French as a unique selling point

I’m French and, before teaching languages, I was the manager of a British company.

I’ve been living in the UK for close to 23 years and started speaking English at the age of seven, and yet:

Had a prospective partner/client reached out to me in French, when I was running that company, not only would they have immediately stood out, but their motivation would have influenced the decision-making.

Yes, English is the language of business the world over, but not everyone speaks it confidently or well. And, even when they do, they appreciate when their mother tongue is being used and recognised.

French, incidentally, is the 5th most spoken language in the world, with more than 300 million speakers (first and second language combined).
